Thomas Jefferson: “Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers….a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy.”

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it’s been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Thank you to Vicky Coletti for your support in hosting this event locally!

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:

Thomas E. Woods Jr. – Best-selling author of 11 books, including Meltdown, Politically Incorrect Guide to American History, and Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century.

Woods has been keynote speaker at a number of Nullify Now! tour stops around the country since the events were launched in Texas in 2010. Don’t miss his keynote speech – you’ll see why people are calling Nullification the “blueprint for liberty” – and Tom Woods one of the nation’s leading advocates of liberty.

Woods’ writing has appeared in dozens of popular and scholarly periodicals, including the American Historical Review, the Christian Science Monitor, Investor’s Business Daily, Catholic Historical Review, Modern Age, American Studies, Intercollegiate Review, Catholic Social Science Review, Economic Affairs (U.K.), Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics, Inside the Vatican, Human Events, University Bookman, Journal of Markets & Morality, New Oxford Review, Catholic World Report, Independent Review, Religion & Liberty, Journal of Libertarian Studies, Journal des Economistes et des Etudes Humaines, AD2000 (Australia), Christian Order (U.K.), and Human Rights Review.

Woods has appeared on CNBC, MSNBC, FOX News Channel, FOX Business Network, C-SPAN, and Bloomberg Television, among other outlets, and has been a guest on hundreds of radio programs, including National Public Radio, the Dennis Miller Show, the Michael Reagan Show, the Dennis Prager Show, the G. Gordon Liddy Show, and the Michael Medved Show.

Tom lives in Topeka, Kansas, with his wife and four daughters.

Robert Scott Bell hosts the fastest two hours of healing information on radio, dealing with everyday health issues from the perspective of alternative/holistic health care. Robert Scott Bell tackles the tough issues and shows no fear when confronting government and corporate bullies who would stand in the way of health freedom. He appears regularly with Michael Savage and The Savage Nation radio show revealing health freedom updates unlike anything else heard in media.

How does health freedom tie into the 10th Amendment? Robert says it is essential – without health freedom, the ability to defeat tyranny is doubly difficult. Robert will explain why nullification is not just an historical political revival, but a matter of life and death. His message: “Stop asking for permission where none is required.”

Paul R. Curtman was elected in November 2010 as a State Representative. Paul represents parts of Franklin, Jefferson and St. Louis Counties (District 105) in Missouri.

Defeating the designated “unwinnable” seat of a third-term Democrat incumbent, Paul and his team campaigned tirelessly on the principles of the Constitution and believes that freedom does not belong to one political party. He authored his first book, Don’t Tread on Me, in 2010 and is one of the most requested conservative speakers in the Midwest. Paul is a member of Cornerstone Church in Wildwood where he also serves as the assistant youth director. Born April 21, 1981 in Flint, Michigan, Paul resides in Pacific.

Joe Wolverton, II Since 2000, Joe has been a featured contributor to The New American magazine. Most recently, he has written a cover story article on the Tea Party movement, as well as a five-part series on the unconstitutionality of Obamacare.

Apart from his work as a journalist, Joe is a professor of American Government at Chattanooga State and was a practicing attorney until 2009. He lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Senator Jim Lembke, a Republican, was elected in 2008 to represent citizens of far south St. Louis City and south St. Louis County (the 1st Senatorial District) in the Missouri Senate after having served in the House of Representatives since 2002.

Senator Lembke’s committee memberships include: Governmental Accountability and Fiscal Oversight, vice-chairman – Ways and Means, vice-chairman – Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and the Environment – Financial and Governmental Organizations and Elections – Jobs, Economic Development and Local Government – Job Creation 2020 Committee

Mary Pilcher-Cook is serving as Kansas State Senator for the 10th district, and has served two terms as a State Representative.

Mary never planned to run for office, but became concerned when she saw the direction government was taking our state and our country.

“I believe in the American dream—and I have first hand experience with it. To me, that dream means life – absolutely; liberty – undeniably; and the pursuit of happiness – for all.”

Michael Boldin is the founder and director of the Tenth Amendment Center, based in Los Angeles, CA. Boldin and the Tenth Amendment Center have been leading the charge to re-educate the American public on the meaning and importance of decentralization as a path to liberty – which is just what the Tenth Amendment affirmed in the U.S. Constitution.

His bottom line is the Constitution – “every issue, every time, no exceptions, no excuses.”

Representative Cynthia Davis served for eight years in the Missouri House of Representatives. Before that she was elected to five terms to the O’Fallon Board of Aldermen.

Rep. Davis was known for being the conscience of the caucus and the champion of liberty. She sponsored The Missouri Healthcare Freedom Act, The Light Bulb Freedom Act, The Firearms Freedom Act and several House Joint Resolutions declaring our state sovereignty.

Jason Rink is the executive director of the Foundation for a Free Society. He is a contributing author of “ Ron Paul: A Life of Ideas,” the biography of Congressman Ron Paul, and the author of“Disciple of Liberty: Seven Priorities of a Christian Patriot.”

He has appeared as a guest on FOX Business Channel’s “ America’s Nightly Scoreboard” , the FOX News program “ On The Record with Greta Van Susteren,” and “ Freedom Watch” with Judge Andrew Napolitano.

Mike Maharrey is the Communications Director for the Tenth Amendment Center. Pundits and politicians would have you believe nullification is about slavery. But, Mike will tell a story that reveals the opposite. The 1850s story of escaped slave Joshua Glover reveals the truth – nullification is about freedom and the responsibility we all have to stand up for liberty. We have a duty.

Mike earned a B.A. in Mass Communications and Media Studies from the University of South Florida St. Petersburg. He has covered local and state politics for several publications in both Kentucky and Florida, and won two Kentucky Press Association awards as a sports writer in 2009. Mike currently produces web content for a Lexington television station.

Carl Bearden is the executive director of United for Missouri’s Future and United for Missouri. These two organizations seek to educate, communicate and activate Missourians on state and local fiscal policy issues. This mission is accomplished through training sessions, rallies, assisting other organizations in helping their members’ voices being heard and provide opportunities for Missourians to let their legislators know of their support or opposition to numerous legislative proposals.

Bearden was the state director of the Missouri Chapter of Americans for Prosperity from September 2007 until July 2010. During his tenure as state director, the AFP-Missouri chapter saw phenomenal growth adding over 26,000 members in less than three years.

Ed Martin is running for Congress in Missouri. He was at the first St. Louis Tea Party gathering on the St. Louis riverfront. Early on, he worked closely with Bill Hennessy, Dana Loesch and others to build the St. Louis organization. He continues to support the St. Louis Tea party and other Tea Party organizations. He is a regular speaker at these events and aids in developing direction and strategies. Ed’s 2010 congressional run was the culmination of these efforts, and was one of the few candidates explicitly endorsed by the Tea Party.
Though the congressional run did not end in defeat of the liberal incumbent, the energy and passion of an army of volunteers helped sweep many fresh conservatives into the Missouri House from St. Louis County, Jefferson County and Ste. Genevieve County.

EVENT OVERVIEW

Thomas Jefferson: “Whensoever the general government assumes undelegated powers….a nullification of the act is the rightful remedy.”

But what IS nullification? How does it happen and work? Since September 2010, the Tenth Amendment Center has been hosting a national tour to educate and activate people on this topic. People are learning the constitutional basis, when it’s been used in history, and how it is happening around the country and how YOU can stop DC right in your own state.

Through historical writings, case studies, and speeches by the Founding Fathers, our speakers will give you a logical, moral, and constitutionally sound case for nullification, revealing:

–How we can roll back Obamacare, cap and trade, and other unconstitutional expansions of federal power through nullification

–Why the Founding Fathers believed that nullification was the “moderate middle ground”

–Why the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution gives the states the power to nullify unconstitutional laws

–Why states – not the Supreme Court – should arbitrate disputes between the states and the federal government over the constitutionality of the federal government’s actions.

–How Nullification is being implemented around the country right now to protect your liberty – and what you can do to make it happen in your own state.
